To quote their new website ‘The Castlewellan Together website is an initiative of the Catholic, Presbyterian and Church of Ireland churches in Castlewellan.’
Surfside Solutions had the great privilege of successfully tendering for a contract to help Castlewellan Together to build a website (and logo) that reflected the character of the group.
Facilitated by and funded through the Irish Churches Peace Project, they also needed a website that was relatively easy to use and update, and which could be used to help all of the community in and around Castlewellan. Surfside Solutions were also contracted to teach the members of the group how to update and run their website. This was done whilst they were building it themselves from the bottom up.
Castlewellantogether.org is a content managed website. It is reponsively designed, so that the same website can be used easily on mobiles and tablets as well.
More importantly, the website gives people an insight into each of the individual churches and their ongoing involvement, often together, in the Castlewellan community. The website also provides a regular news feed and an events calendar. Other community groups in the area are welcome and able to make use of these facilities*. The whole process was extremely worthwhile, and it was great fun to do as well!
*Guidelines and details of how to apply to get your event details displayed are available on the website.
Comments from the team:
The Castlewellan Together website was a project funded and supported by the Irish Churches Peace Project to help promote and develop good relations in Castlewellan through the churches working together.”
Surfside Solutions provided the technical expertise and support needed to develop the site. At each stage of the process David Gordon worked with the team of people drawn from the various churches, leading us through the process of site design and teaching us the necessary skills to maintain and update the site.”
Our sessions together were fun and friendships were formed during the process – all of which is a testament to the way in which David worked with us!”
