The Big Brother of all camps

BCM camps were amazing this year! BCM is a Christian organisation that runs camps and fun days for kids of all ages, and teaches them about God's word. This year both camps were held in the Windmill Christian Centre in Arbroath. The first week (junior camp) was for primary school kids, and the second week (teen week) was for secondary school kids.

I was a leader at the first week and a camper at the second. I had the time of my life. Junior camp's theme that year was faith, and the kids learned about Abraham and his journey of faith with God. During their week at camp they took part in loads of fun events throughout Arbroath. They enjoyed activities such as swimming, crafts, cliff walks, days on the beach, and free time at the park and shops. At nights the kids had club times, where they had quizzes, short games, and sang songs. Junior camp is a great time to get away from home and  meet lots of new friends. During the week all the kids e donated money to sponsor a child in Ethiopia for a year, which was money well spent. All the kids enjoyed camp so much they were sad to leave at the end of the week.

Teen camp also learned about Abraham's faith, but in the style of Big Brother. The house was filled with cameras where Big Brother could watch what was happening 24/7. There was a diary room where voting took place every night and where people were given their secret tasks. Points were awarded for passing tasks and getting nominated, so that there could be an overall winner at the end of the week (which was me!).

On top of all that excitement we still took day trips, canoeing, rock climbing, shopping, quad bikes, and loads more. We also had amazing club times at night, where the atmosphere was set with our disco lights and band.

The teens loved their week at camp so much that they are still talking about it and can't wait till next year.

I would like to thank all the leaders and helpers who took time out of their summer holidays to come and spend it at camp. Your help is much appreciated.
